The Chinatown Heritage Post Office has been part of Vancouver's Chinatown since 1972. For over fifty years, it's been the place where neighbours pick up their mail, get keys cut, send packages, and buy stamps. It's not a franchise. It's not a brand. It's just the post office — the one on Main Street that everyone in the neighbourhood knows by heart.

It's the kind of place where the person behind the counter knows your name, remembers which mailbox is yours, and asks how your family is doing. That doesn't happen at a kiosk. That doesn't happen online. It happens here, in person, the way it always has.

In November 2025, the post office was days from closing its doors for good. Rising rents, changing economics, and a shifting neighbourhood had pushed it to the edge. The local media ran the story. The community spoke up. And a local business owner stepped in before it was too late.

The goal wasn't to rebrand it or modernize it into something unrecognizable. The goal was to keep it alive — to preserve the services the neighbourhood depends on while making sure the business could sustain itself for the next fifty years. New ownership, same post office. Same counter, same mailboxes, same familiar faces.

We added an online presence so mailbox holders can manage their accounts remotely. We expanded the key cutting and RFID services. We brought in a broader range of office supplies. But the core of what this place is — a heritage post office that serves its community — hasn't changed and won't.
